Sacrament of Matrimony
God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:27-28)
Married life is a beautiful vocation, ordained and blessed by the Creator. The Church rejoices in the mutual love shown by married couple, a love that reflects the perpetual and exclusive love of God for His people.
Married love is at once personal and public as it is a celebrated with family, friends, and the faith community of the Catholic Church. As representatives of the Church, the pastoral staff prepares, supports and encourages the engaged couple to live the married life according to the heart of Christ and the pastoral practice of the Church, not only the wedding day but each day of the marriage until death.
The period of engagement is a time for reflection and prayer, as the couple prepares to give themselves sincerely to one another. At Saint Catherine’s we offer a wealth of assistance and encouragement to help the engaged couple to prepare for the celebration of this sacrament. Every wedding ceremony is a unique event, and all details are finalized only after meeting with the Pastor.
