Sacristans

The work of the sacristan is to prepare the liturgical books, sacred vessels and vestments for the worship of God. Working under the direction of Father Jordan Kelly, sacristans have the important responsibility of caring for the Sanctuary and the Altar, particularly in preparation for celebration of the sacred Liturgy on Sundays and Holy Days. This service supports the sacramental and liturgical life of the parish and it allows for a proper functioning of the Church.

In addition, the sacristans help to greet people coming to Holy Mass by handing out the worship programs, taking up the collection, directing communicants to the altar and assisting pastoral staff where needed. Sacristy work, therefore, is a regular and crucial ministry of service and dedication to God and His people.

Parishioners who give of their time and talent in this important service to the Parish discover the joy of serving at the Altar of the Lord! Their generosity and sacrifice also assist the Parish in not having to hire a weekend sacristan, which is a very large and unnecessary expense for the Parish to bear. We need and appreciate your service!
